Tarsha M. McCrae, MPH, CHES
Her background includes previous health disparities experience from serving as a health educator working with diverse populations conducting community-based participatory research. In 2002, McCrae received a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at George Washington University . In 1999, she received her Bachelors of Science in Community Health at the University of Maryland at College Park . McCrae also serves as a member of the American Public Health Association, Public Health Education and Health Promotion Section and is the Co-Chair of the Health Disparities Committee of the Metropolitan Washington Public Health Association. She also maintains her credentials as a Certified Health Education Specialist from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. She enjoys volunteering and setting aside time to work with the community. From Baltimore , MD , she's seen first hand the social injustice and poverty associated more with minority racial/ethnic groups. She has dedicated herself to serving in capacities that allow helping the community first hand by participating in committees and joining coalitions. As a co-founder of the Women Network, she shares the vision to help women of color and their communities achieve all that is possible and linking women to services that will enhance their lives. Her particular interests lie in addressing health inequalities but she is committed in serving in all aspects of the organization. |
