Beauty From Withn, Specializes in providing Wardrobe Consulting and Make-up Artistry. Our services include Make-up Application and Wardrobe Consultation for the stay-at-home mom entering the work force, college students entering into their professional careers, individuals whom have drastically changed their physical appearance due to weight loss, cancer survivors, business owners needing to update their look and single women and men looking for that special someone. We also provide make-up and wardrobe services for portfolio building.

WN : What is the Beauty from Withn Brand?
BFWI: Beauty From Withn is a full service company that specializes in make-up artistry and wardrobe consulting.

WN : How and when Beauty from Withn was born?
BFWI: Beauty From Withn is established in late 2007. After a few years as a MaryKay Consultant I wanted more formal training thus I attended beauty school earning my license as a Make-up Artist. This is how I began Beauty From Within.

WN: What are your goals for the Beauty from Withn Brand? What is on the helm?
BFWI: My goal is to be a premier brand. Adding to my brand is my new online consignment boutique DC Consignment Boutique. All of which is focused on uplifting women to look and feel their absolute best.

WN: Please share your passion for empowering women and beauty.
BFWI: As a child I’ve always loved to help girls with their appearance, self-respect and overall well being. This was something instilled in my sister and myself from our mother. She was always the one that women in our family and her circle of friends looked up to. The way in which she carried herself was well received. As a child and now as an adult I’ve adapted those same qualities by way of self-respect and helping other girls/women to do the same.

WN: As people of color spearheading their own beauty and fashion empire, what words of advice can you offer to others aspiring in this field?
BFWI: My advice will be to get out of your head and out of your own way. I will admit that there is prejudice in this and other fields. However, we can tend to think too much about the negative and use this as an excuse not to succeed. There are women of color who have spearheaded in this industry and have paved the way for the rest of us. Don’t question about your dreams, live them out loud.

WN: Let's talk about this industry. Do you think it is designed for women/people of color to succeed?
BFWI: Because we are minority this and other industries may have been intended to cater to the majority. Women/people of color are strong and persistent in what we want so we kick, break and climb over barriers to reach our dreams.

WN: Have you received guidance from more senior business leaders in this industry?
BFWI: Yes, the first was from the talented Mr. Sam Fine. While I was in beauty school I saw one of his books and decided to reach out to him for guidance and advice and to my surprise he actually responded and gave me some wonderful guidance. I still have each of his emails almost two years later. The other was his protégé Mr. Valente Frazier. One of the most down to earth and knowledgeable people in the industry

WN: Let's talk about your college experience?
BFWI: I’ve attended Prince Georges Community for a degree in Criminal Justice and am currently still working on my degree.

WN: What opportunities did college present for you?
BFWI: Attending College afforded me the job opportunities I wouldn’t have necessarily had if I didn’t attend.

WN: What is your philosophy about women and business?
BFWI: My philosophy about women and business is that we break barriers. We are headstrong in our desire to become true businesswomen.
