Why Be A Corporate Board Director... BECAUSE AMERICA NEEDS YOU!

Post-Enron, corporate board service requires more independence in board members. Companies need directors who bring a fresh perspective to the table and are willing to be more actively engaged. Board service offers:

* Opportunities to make a difference. Teach others AND influence company ethics
* Increased influence through extensive networking
* Compensation ranging from $5-45,000 annually (The Conference Board 1999 Report)

Boardroom Bound is compatible with the trend predicted for corporate board practices in the 21st Century. In his 1997 groundbreaking book, [the] 21st Century Corporate Board , author Ralph D. Ward wrote: "Boards need, and increasingly want, directors who can bring strong talents in specific areas. This not only levels the playing field for women and minorities, it can actually give them a leg up.." His prediction resonates in a BusinessWeek article titled: "Wanted: More Diverse Directors," April 30, 2000 .

Who Benefits & How...

Individuals can assess their current qualifications, perform an analysis designed to fill in any identified gaps, and utilize Boardroom Bound resources and tools to create a personal Strategic Plan for securing a directorship. Upon pre-qualification, they will have a Champion in Boardroom Bound to promote their candidacy for corporate board service.

Companies and Industry will be perceived as trendsetters in recapturing public trust and will access pre-qualified director-candidates on a more cost efficient basis. Also, they will enhance their pro-diversity initiatives.

Placement Firms that sponsor our program can gain access to a new pool of talent through the Boardroom Bound Candidate Database.

How Do We Find You

Boardroom Bound identifies seasoned talent in the ethnic minority and the women's business communities through alliances with leading national membership organizations that represent ethnic minority and women's interests.

Why? To nurture and promote them for corporate board service in Fortune 1000 and emerging and rapid growth companies. Anticipated result: Helping companies identify hard to find candidates willing to serve in the post-Enron era.

The steps associated with initiating and maintaining a pre-qualified candidate talent pool include:

* Preparing them to compete for board appointments
* Pre-qualifying them for corporate board service
* Promoting them to companies for selection to serve on a corporate board

Premier Networking

The Annual Ambassador Awards event is the premier networking event for director-candidates to meet and mingle with CEOs and officials from Board Nominating Committees.

Each year, top leaders from the corporate, political and advocacy communities receive a Boardroom Bound Ambassador Award for championing diversity and accountability on corporate boards.

2003 Honorees include:

Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, (D-MD)
Congressman Michael G. Oxley (R-OH)
Congresswoman Eva Clayton (D-NC)
Bruce Nelson, Chairman & CEO, Office Depot
Arthur A. Fletcher, Ph.D., Father of Affirmative Action
